1. Read the audiotranscript with a partner or change some of the information to adapt it to your situation.

2. Write a paragraph outlining your career objectives following advanced study. View the accompanying Power Point presentation on details of how to write this paragraph.

3. Write four questions beginning with "Why" when asking someone to describe their career objectives, and then answer them. The question does not have to come directly from the listening exercise.
Example: Why does Richard want to complete a masters degree program in Strategic Management from the University of Florida and then return to Taiwan?
Answer: So that he can make a more significant contribution than he would be able to do without further academic training
Example: Why did you decide to work in the medical profession?
Answer: Because I enjoy working closely with others.
